What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Parker Pearce Service Experts is here with a couple of the most usual A/C problems in Gaithersburg.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioning system running but there isn’t cool air coming out, you may need to have your refrigerant levels evaluated. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air blowing from your air conditioning system is actually cool. Call Parker Pearce Service Experts and we’ll come out and review your refrigerant levels and look into why your system is not giving off cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

The reason your condenser fan may not be rotating could be that it merely burned out and you have to replace it. Humidity can cause more condensation so an additional problem to watch for is that the water is not draining right or that the drain is obstructed. If you can verify these things, you may be able to find the problem; if not, give Parker Pearce Service Experts a call and we can look into what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and discuss your options to get your system working again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering the temperature on your thermostat. It sounds silly but sometimes we forget the obvious. If that doesn’t get your A/C cooling, inspect the air filter. If the air filter is dirty, it could cause major cooling problems. Another problem that could cause your lack of cooling is that your HVAC system is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a common issue when homes are constructed. Parker Pearce Service Experts will come out and conduct an analysis to determine if the size of your equipment is causing your issues.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your AC is short cycling, or turning on or off constantly, it could mean one of many things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and needs cleaning. Once the unit is cleaned and all clogs removed, you may be good to go. Keep in mind that humidity also plays a piece so if your home cools to the correct temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to heat up quickly, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the equipment is having to work harder to keep your home at a lower temperature.

No matter your trouble, whatever AC trouble you run into, Parker Pearce Service Experts is here for you 24 hours a day so we can get your family comfortable quickly.
