In October 2016, two Service Experts centers will be turning heads with pink vans. Fras-Air/General Service Experts and Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning of Raleigh are both going to paint two of their work vans pink for the fight against breast cancer.
During the month of October, Fras-Air/General Service Experts will be donating 20% of all sales from their pink vans to their local Susan G. Komen chapter to help raise money to help fight breast cancer. Service Experts of Raleigh will be contributing 5% of all sales from their pink vans in addition to giving $10 for every furnace tune-up to their local chapter, Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast.
This is the second year Fras-Air/General Service Experts has painted a couple of their vans pink to raise funds for this great cause. In 2015, Fras-Air was able to raise over $7,000 for Komen North Jersey. David Schneider, the general manager and one of his employees both lost their mothers to alternative forms of cancer and were inspired to help other families.
“The National Cancer Institute said that 107,184 women in New Jersey faced breast cancer in 2016,” Schneider explained. “While the number of cases is actually decreasing each year, that still constitutes a large number of families who are grappling with this disease, and there is still a serious need for research and support.”
Service Experts of Raleigh’s General Manager, Chris Overton, seconded Schneider’s thoughts. “As stated by the North Carolina State Center for Health Statistics, breast cancer is the leading type of cancer in North Carolina – for women and men.”
